Tranny tool question...
What do you guys use to hold the mainshaft in place while you torque down the nuts on the end of the main and countershafts? Honda makes a mainshaft holder tool (PN # 07923-6890101). I used an impact wrench to get the nuts off, but I need to accurately torque them back down.
Is there a trick to this that will allow me to get away with not having to buy that tool?
I'm thinking about just making my own out of an old pressure plate and a steel rod.

takes two to do it this way but the way i always go about loosening/torquing that nut on the mainshaft goes like this. basically you just place the very end of the mainshaft in a bench-vice (preferrably with some rubber grips on it). and then i usually get someone to hold the mainfhaft from moving/twisting while i torque the nut down to the 70 or so lb/ft required.
theres probably an easier way but this method always works for me.

Bench vice? Damn, that's creative.
Mine's bolted to the bench and this tranny ain't exactly light, but I might try it!
