I wonder how much that cost him? I would go for it before I would go suicide doors if they ran the same price range... about $3500 at my local shop... UABcustoms.... I guess it might be cool to see if they would do it... That lude is for sure a head turner w/o the cool paint job or anything else at all.. I could have a type s 4th gen w/ nuttin done to it and ragged torn up seats and a shitty paint jobs and huge dents and still get the oohs and ahhs with that piece of work, huh?

I dont know if its possible....I contacted a couple of Body Shops a year ago, and they told me they wouldnt even touch a project like that.
If it is possible, Id love to do that...but Im trying to save up some money to get my doors gull winged like the Hamman M3 in Euro Tuner

Is that a del sol? The hood looks really long for a del sol. looks like a del sol with a prelude front end grafted on. oh and having prelude doors gullwinged? how would that be possible?

It's do-able....just look at the guy's Mustang that's for sale in the classefieds. Custom convertible, reinforcements welded in, etc etc.

The only odd part about it would be making the actual targa top itself...it would have to have the top part of the old window frame in it, and lining it up perfectly might be hard.

I'd think someone could find a shop that would do this for them very cheap in return for throwing a sticker on the car. It'd probably get ya in some magazines...

Wouldnt that make the lude so much less reinforced that the body would probably twist so much turning that it would be worthless?!? (speaking about the targa top idea) Unless you paid like a few grand to have the whole things reinforced differently.....
yeah def. looks like a del sol

Hey man, I just brought it up because it looks interesting... Wonder if we will find out what it is... I actually think its a del sol because I cnat see a rear window and I cant tell if the mini-seats r in the back. No rear window means del sol... i agree that the front is too long for a del sol though... Maybe a custom front end thrown on there.... Anyways, its interesting and bad *** looking... I like 5th gen lights with that hood, but not w/ the stock look.. No matter anyhow...

Well, the body shop locally does alot of crazy stuff... Everyone heard of the T-TOP accord? The orange one? Its pretty bad ***... I might go up there this week and see what they think of the idea and how much it would run me if they were to do it... Only problem I see really maybe a reinforcing cross bracing underneath the car for the twisting(but I doubt it for a daily or show car) and maybe throwing del sol style doors on it because of thw window frame.. Maybe they culd chop it of and weld it to the frame.... I guess they would have to remove the window channel lock piece though right? Then just adhere back to the car and the top too the targa and then the front part to the windshield area. Three cuts with some good rubber seals.. Linig up might be kinda hard... I dont really think so though...

Tell me that this lude pic doesnt look bad ***? If I had this I could have nothing else done and get attention form enthusiasts everywhere! Even from people who know nothing about prelude would like the look garunteed.... Of course, i actually think 5th gen might be better looking w/ it thna a 4th gen(my car)

I know, thats what I am talking about.... I am so wanting to go and c about it.... Of course, I will tell you but have my head tucked between my legs when they say like 10k.... Maybe 4k or under and I might end up trying to get it underway... Aby more than that and i would want major *** sponsorship! Of course, magazines hear I come if I'd do that.... I mean, met a local guy 2 weeks ago who went suicide doors on his miata for 3500 and he won a trip into a magazine... Now, doors and top would be enough to make the cover... Well, a good paint job would be good too!

Hey Boosted...i think its great that youre trying to get in a mag...i really havent seen a prelude in a mag.....or at least a 5th gen.. i cant remember...but that would be great if you could make it...thats exactly what us prelude owners need...exposure and other people thinking when they see a suped-up lude....wow...i wonder whats he/she got??? I myself and pretty sure other members here wish you the best of luck and let us know if you do make it to superstardom

Hence the reason convertables weigh so much more. remove the solid top, and you have to seriously beef up the underside
