hi, I put a new tranny in today, it's D16Y8 99 year engine, and 95 EX tranny, took it for a spin, this thing was cutting off at 5000 rpm all the time, what could go wrong?
One thing though, we fu**ed the wiring of te VSS sensor, it got ripped off, can this cauz the cut off?

definetly fix the VSS, which ecu are u running? are u throwing any codes?

 

When i had my vtec controller on wrong my ecu would through a check engine light and then the it wounldn't rev past 5000 either. i would have to reset the ecu and it would go away then a little later after getting on it again it would come back on.
