Default deck plate on a D16?

i was just reading the other post about a 2.2L b18c5 and started to wonder. the hight of the sleves is what determins your displacment right? well since that is true couldnt you put deck plate on a d16 and get custom sleves and rods and up the displacment from a 1.6 to say a 1.8 or go real crazy and up it to a 2.0L? and if i wanted to do that to a ZC (d16a1) could i use a b series deck plate? i think i might try this with my new zc befor i put it in my sol.

The height of the sleeve doesnt do nothing but give a longer compression stroke. If you want to affect your literage you get bigger pistons.83.5mm pistons will give you a 1.9liter gsr engine and 86mm will give you a 2.1liter gsr engine.

deck plate a SOHC? how about a huge stroker crank with longer rods so the R/S ratio would still be decent. higher stroke, higher compression. better rod stroke ratio, slower piston speed and that maybe equals to a GOOD SOHC that would make as good HP as a SOHC

well yes that is part of it...

but right now on the 96-2000 d series i know for a fact that the rod lenght is the actually 1mm longer than an LS rod....90mm but the bore is 75mm

soo the main question is the stroke of the crank....which i am trying to find out....

in order to make more power you need to try and square the engine meaning like and LS/vtec make the bore and stroke as close to each other as possible....which on a honda would mean bigger bore....Hondas are so over stroked from squared from the factory sometimes its hard to get them perfect....

in order to get them perfectly aquared you would have to get some customs sleeves in order to get a 90mm bore and 90mm stroke....that would be ideal(weither or not thats possible is another story)

there was a story in a magazine about a year ago about a single cam drag racer....he had some engine work done by R&D in cali. He said he was running a 2.1L but he was having problems with realiability.... soo i guess it can be done.... but he didnt have his bore numbers posted...
