we put a mani on a 98 gsr and now it hardly runs and blows black and white smoke out the exhaust along with black liquid. the idle is very irratic and if you give it any gas it dies. the plugs are also very black and they werent like that before they were perfectly clean. we have checked for all kinds of vacuum leaks and none are present. any help is greatly appreciated. it also has no codes

 

did you reuse the oem gasket for the manifold? if so that would be one place to start looking

 

no all new gaskets no leaks...

 

injectors? running rich? get a b&m fuel gauge..see how that looks..I dunno..its a shot in the dark..

 

did you put anything else on at th esame time as the manifold?

fixed it we mixed up the two common mix up plugs on the throttle body.

 

i did the same thing..such a releif when you fix it...what do you guys think of the mani? happy with it?

there is a tiny nipple on the drivers side on the back...does that connect to the evap canister? Also on the head iteself(96 gsr) distributor side there are 2 coolant lines that come off the head..one goes to the thermo, then there is a smaller one right next to it...where does that connect to? Thanks

 

I ordered mine and an ITR AEM CAI also, since the GS-R CAI will not fit.

How you guys like the Skunk2 Intake Manifold?

 

yeah the guy we were putting it on for got the ITR CAI too. he likes the manifold. now he just needs to get some new o-rings for his injectors. leaking

 

yeah we spent the whole day trying to figure it out. worst day ever. but you can actually hear vtec now
