Default Aluminium Rods?!

I'm building my H22A to run 20+ psi of boost. Can someone tell me why it would or would not be a good idea to run aftermarket aluminium rods. What would be the benefits and or consequences as opposed to going with something else (forged, steel, etc) out there on the market??? Thanks for the bandwidth!

It is my understanding that aluminum rods are lighter and used to take weight away from the reciprocating(might be spelled wrong) assembly (combination of moving parts) so as to make throttle response quicker and also help acceleration. But they are not as durable as billet steel rod, or titanium rods. If you plan on running that much boost i think i would go with something stronger like the steel or titaniun rods, but titanium rods are expensive, so i say billet steel rods. But then again what do i know, the only car I had with boost was a 87 volvo turbo sedan
no but seriously good luck with your project

Aluminum rods are strong, but stretch easier under heat and stress. Titanium is stronger, but it has problems w/ "grabbing" other metals near it, and it's much more expensive to produce. Forged/billet steel is prob. the best option.
