Need opinions on engine choice for my new project(LS vs h22)
I'm in the process of purchasing, for a very good price, a 96 Integra LS that was a theft recovery. The engine, coilovers(full) wheels and tailights were taken. The engine harness has been cut off.
I want to swap in a H22 but would like some input on which would cost more. H22 or LS engine.
I currently have an extra LS but its from a 90 Teg. So I'm still gonna need a hydro tranny, engine mounts, plus other stuff. H22 swap is $2250 + $400 for mounts. Have access to F22 intermediate shaft and G2 integra axles already.
for the ls I'm gonna need tranny, ecu, engine mounts, and all the other stuff to upgrade to ODB1.

B18C swap is $1000+ more than H22. Already have LS engine.
The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning toward H22.
2nd question, since my wiring harness is cut I'm going to need to get another one. If I go h22 can I buy a Prelude vtec harness to ease the installation?

if you already have the ls motor why dont you cop a gsr/b16 head. with cams and all the noraml bolt ons you'll almost be up to an h22 in power

I've pretty much made up my mind to go w/ H22. Any input on wiring harness?
good idea going with the h22. there's nothing like h22 power. as for the harness, you'll need a custom one. a prelude one won't work and a civic one won't work. it needs to be a combo of both.

I'll be using prelude engine, ECU and matching distributor. Is there a reason I would need the integra harness.
I am only asking b/c this H22 thing is new to me. I have 2 G2 integras w/ other Bseries swaps.
The integra I'm buying does not have a engine harness. So that would mean I have to buy 2 harnesses and they are expensive.
could you eloborate on why prelude harness won't work?
You need parts of the Civic harness to plug into the harness at the firewall on both sides of the car.
Do you now see why it HAS to be a hybrid harness? You really do need a Prelude harness AND a Civic harness...then you'll end up with scraps from each on your new monster harness
You need parts of the Prelude harness to plug into the sensors and what not on the h22.

there is no harness at the firewall. the harness runs from ecu through firewall to connections on engine. so whatever harness I use would plug directly into computer. would 96 gsr harness work for this

so you know what you have to do?
if you don't feel comfortable doing the wiring yourself (I didn't)...send an IM to Prospeed!
