Un-screw it with an open end wrench, or unplug the harness, take the cat off, take of heat shields, bolt cat back up, and plug in harness.

yank it? wtf, if you look at it, its pretty self explanatory. use a crescent wrench or open end wrench.

What is the purpose for it in the first place?

Yea they are, but I like it better anyways.

Just a bit of warning, the bolts can be pretty tight and i slammed on my wrentch to get one off and ran my finger into a hose clip. Now my finger is bleeding profusely. But this might be just becuase Im an idiot. ;-)

dude, I know how that is. I slipped trying to wrench a bolt off trying to get my front bumper off and it gashed a big hole into my middle finger knuckle.

It got my pointer finger knuckle.

If your unclipping the harnest there is a mount that you need to take off holding the cable onto the block.

from my experience of taking off o2 sensors, taking it after it has been put in an aftermarket o2 sensor is pretty easy, but taking it off of a stock header is a bitch. Hope you have some formula 44 or something cause its really stuck in there so you have to loosten it up.

If you just want the heat sheild off leave the o2 and unclip the harness. It is very very easy.

Is there any real reason for the heat sheild.

What way did you use to get it through the o2 sensor?

Unclip the harness or take the sensor off.

I just got the bolts undone. Sorry, I made it sound like I got the whole thing off. For the clip, do you just pull it apart really hard or is there something on it you have to push in?

Pull on the whole thing towards the left it will slide off.

Then you need to push on the top and bottom and pull. It may take a little tugging.

I can take pics if you need me to.

go to your local auto zone and and rent a o2 sensor socket and remove it with that, it makes it much easier. take the header off first.
