Default Ok, why is my car running so bad, Coult it be.....

Ever since I turboed my 1996 GSR, it never ran right, not with 4 different fuel management systems (greddy blue box, SMC, vortech FMU, AFC) nothing!

So tired of it, I took off the turbo kit and returned it back to stock

Now with my stock obd2 p72, it starts, idles and can even drive perfect but it's not making any power whatsoever. I can have it floored at 8k in 2nd and it will just be cruisin

I borrowed a friends chipped p28 with a Jun program and it runs better but it's still slow below 4k and after 4k, it feels like vtec is engaging even though (it's like a quick jerk) it's not suppose to engage on the Jun program until 6k

some notes, here are the codes it pulled up when we had the p72 in there

P1381 (9) Cylinder position sensor intermittent interruption
P1381 (9) Cylinder Position sensor no signal
P1337 Crankshaft flucuation sensor no signal

This is some information I found out from the previous owner

the motor currently in my car is an obd1 motor, I'm guessing he used an obd2 wiring harness to go with the obd2 p72, i tried to counter that by using a skunk jumper and p28 but of course it didn't work

there is NO Crankshaft flucuation sensor below the car, it's not there, cant' find it or the harness

My autometer blinky blinky inaccurate a/f gauge is now pegged on rich ALL the time, only when I beat on it like a redheaded step child does it even budge from green to stoich, but almost immediately it richens back up

The car repair shops here have no clue to what the problem is, anybody on here know?

Like always, thanks in advance

Mick, sounds like the gsr is getting troublesome. I am not sure what to tell you in terms of your problems. But it sounds as if the GSR has seen better days.

If you need any help let me know i can try to ask around here and see what i come up with.

Good luck.

Ryan

Thanks, the car runs good with the JUN chip but it should run perfect with the stock p72 also, o well, the compression is perfect across the board also 215 all the way through

O well, going to take it to a Acura Specialist on Monday

if you're running the OBD2 chip on a OBD1 engine then it's looking for sensors it can't find...particularly ones that have to do with air/fuel.

Oops, i forgot to mention that prior to putthing the turbo on, it ran perfect?? hmmm, I also retarded my distributor timing a little bit when I was turboed and never put advanced it again, maybe that's it?
