Default B16A running very sluggish in my 90 crx si

Im hoping someone who has done this swap has had the same problem im having..i did a b16a swap in to my 90 crx si.. i got the jdm engine and finally got it running.. but it is running very sluggish... after spending 1600 dollars at a shop in charleston sc and having it sit there for a month i finally got the car back and they warned me it was running very sluggish...they told me to get some good gas circulating through the engine with a little stp to treat it .. that didnt work... so the next step is changing the spark plugs wires cap and rotor... if u have had this problem ... could u please let me know if this could maybe end my problem...

did you do a tune-up to the engine or do you have parts that have been on there since it was used in japan? did you set the timing, also what octane gas are you running?

they said they tuned it...but as far as doing the tune up im assuming u are talking about plugs and wires and such?? well i just got it back yesterday.. and i put 92 octane in on top of that stp gas treatment.. they gave me the number spark plugs i need the zfr7f11
but they put in zfr5f11 to get it running because the ones on the engine were no good.. and he had some zfr5f11 laying around.. but hoping the zfr7f11 will make it run better

Ok... do a basic tuneup... spark plugs (BKR6E-11), Cap and rotor, wires, oil change, etc. Then get the timing adjusted, or do it yourself with a gun. Adjust the valves to spec. Drain the tank, run good gasoline, change the fuel filter. If it's still running poorly do a compression test.
