Default D16Z6 w/ CX tranny question..

what do you guys think about the CX tranny on a SOHC vtec?

would it be good? I'm a broke college student

it will suck, but there will be more power than a CX engine....good luck keeping it in vtec when you shift

you'll be able to do like over 80 in second gear tho...i could get to 70 with the cx engine at fuel cut off which was like 5500

Use the CX tranny for now and upgrade to the Si/EX tranny ASAP.

The CX tranny will be slow as hell still, but at least you'll get from point A to point B, right?

2. Civic EX/Si with Phantom Grip LSD? $$$$$???

Get the si tranny with a cx third gear as the forth in the si tranny.
beter do something about 3rd gear. 4th gear's never the problem in the D16Z6, because it's closer to 3rd than 3rd is to second. The best thing to do would be drop in a ZC 3rd gear in place of the original. The ONLY time I have stock b16's catch up to me is after my 3rd gear shift....it's WAAYYYY too long.
