ZC Swap into a CRX HELP!
I just got my zc swap done yesterday, but my cooling fan isnt coming on, and my check engine light is on? Anyone have any ideas what i should check? Im running it on a CRX Si ecu. Im gonna see if i am throwing any codes today, your help would be appreciatied!
Also let us know what code your getting on the ECU. This will help to determine whats wrong. Chances are your fan is just unpluged as stated b4, I forgot to plug mine in when I did my swap.
for the CEL double check to make sure you put the speedo cable back into the tranny for the VSS i forgot to do that when i did my swap and the CEL came on due to that. just a thought
Could possibly be a stupid question, but are you letting the car heat up enough FOR the cooling fan to come on? I'ts not going to come on right off the bat, if you didn't already know, and sorry if you did already know that.
my fan wasnt running after i did the swap either, i tried everything to get it back up and running. I couldnt find out what it was so i just hooked it up to a switch. It does get annoying always turning it on and clutters the dash a little but its ok with me....
My fan still isnt coming on, and my CEL stays on. I swapped out ECU's just to check, did the same thing. Im throwing code's 6 & 20. Any ideas? And yes im letting my car heat up enough!

6 is a coolant temp sensor...check if the the sensor is pluged in...should be at the side of the head.
20 is an electricload detector
some 90-91 cars don't have a eld so if you are using a 89 si ecu that looks for a eld and your car is a 90-91 that doesn't have a eld it will throw that code...so first check if you have an electric load detector in your fuse box under the hood.I don't have a pic so maybe someone else can help with that.
I would check that first as its the easiest to check ok
