Default update: hydrolock in san diego!

okay, well idid what most of you suggested. i drained the oil, removed the valve cover and plugs, put mystery oil in, and cranked the motor to get it all out. filled it back up with fluid, and try to start her up. at first it tooka while. i would hold in the key and it would sound like it was choking. then i held it in for a while and it started and kept going. white smoke that wouldn't evaporate was coming out from the motor and the exhaust. what could this mean? i've had the car running for a while and white smoke is still coming out. i test drove it and drove other motorist crazy because the smoke trail was so bad... anyway, whats your take on this guys? Thanks to everyone who helped me in my last thread, and TIA to everyone who will help me on this one...

I mentioned to Degradated that with the rain that we got the other day, we'd see a Hydrolock thread. Ugh, I'm sorry dude.

I too drove through some heavy rain that day and through some monster puddles.

My bypass valve worked like a champ.

Good luck with your dilemma.

glad that your car is still running, but i would be wary of your motor's integrity from now on

if my motor hydrolocked, it would never be the same motor even if it were running again.

I hydrolocked my motor. Pulled the plugs right away and got the water out the cylinders. My motor also had clouds of pure white smoke coming out the exhaust. I would recommend compression test. One of my cyl was off by about 15psi. My motor still runs strong even with the juice, but all my numbers were close except #1. If compression test yeild good #'s, your motor should be fine.

check your coolant for oil!! compression test....

Its hard to belive that a car can be revived to even close to 90% after hydrolocking

If the white smoke is continuing it sounds like a blown head gasket.
