Default i need some help from people who know how to tune.

ok i just finished my turbo and i love it my only problem is i still need to work out all the bugs and get my a/f ratio right. im running an smc+ and dsm 450cc injectors. i have my scm close but it still has some fine tuning left.

i went and bought the tech edge wb kit v1.5 and then bought palm to use for data loging. should be under $330 for the wb kit and it was $50 for the palm. and im going to buy an ntk wb o2 off ebay for $165 when i get some more money.

ok to my ? i bought all this stuff because the closest dyno with a/f capabilities is atleast 2 hrs away and from what i hear possaly even 4hrs away. so i bought all this so i could tune and not have to drive that far.

did i waste my money because im going to need a dyno anyway? or can i street tune and increas hp and gas milage? my other reason for buying was so i could tune other cars, because like i said no one in my area has this stuff so after practice i was going to help friends with their projects..

let me know what u think. thanks

PS i also have an msd btm but its not hooked up yet becuase im only running 6psi and i wanted to get my a/f right before i get in to timming.

All i can tell ya is all of the people i know that have tried to tune there cars them selves have ALL ended up taking there car to a pro to get dyno tune it. So you may have wasted a little cash on all that stuff. but you never know it might work for ya.

You can street tune it yourself, then save that much money to get it fine tuned. It'll take less time on the DYNO then.

If you eventually go standalone get an EGT so you can adjust your timing a litle safer.

If you're tuning with the hack you need to get a timing light to adjust your timing at the distributor. An EGT would halp so you don't go too far, but it would be better to get a MSD BTM for this or just get Hondata, and someone to tune it for you. I'm sure with the help from H-T you can find a tuner near you. Most people here seem to take it to someone, but a few tune on the street.

Quite a few people sell their "tuning services" here.

im using the smc+ and i have an MSD BTM and the closest hondata dealer/tuner is 4-5hrs away thats why i bought the wb set up so i wouldn;t have to drive that far. will i be able to get some good hp numbers and decent 1/4mile times with street tuning or am i going to need to dyno tune anyway?
