ok, i'm gonna be getting some new struts and i was wondering how much lowering i can get away with with 14" wheels??? Should i just go with a coilover or is there a spring that has a good drop? I don't wanna be tucking but i don't wanna have too much of a gap! tia

 

neuspeed race or h&r race, what struts are you going with?

 

Go with my setup--Sprint Extreme Rx's--lays the car right on the tire(14's), with no gap, yet no tuck--they are perfect. Price is very affordable, and they are a quality spring. Got mine from http://www.ardperformance.com

 

i'll check out the Rx's, i heard they lower the car significantly!! I'll also look at the h&R's and nuespeed. The struts i have are tociko blues, i know they aren't the best but i got a good deal!

 

I run the regular sprints on my hb and they ride real nice..lower with about 1/2 inch gap on my 14 crx si alloys..i paid 100 for them new..i run H&R sports on my hb..they ride nice a lil stiffer than sprints..there more of a performance spring than the sprint..the gap is 1 1/2 with my 16's.. i ran skunk 2's on both with both tire/rim combos and they were nice but a bit stiff for tokiko blues..for ground control you would want konis or Illumnas I d stick with regular lowering springs for a street car

 

btw with the sprints i have a lil bit of camber making my fronts wear a lil on the inside but not bad at all... the H&R's i have no camber wear since they sit higher...if you have decent tires and run some "race" spings invest in a camber kit

 

I got the Sprint RX Extremes, gives a nice *** drop and it rides nice also. you WILL need a camber kit BTW. Also, itll blow your stock shocks out so your best bet would be to get some good adjustables...

 

you should go with something like the eibach prokit, neuspeed sport, or h&r sport... anything that drops your car more than 1"-1.5" is gonna require quality adjustable struts... i don't think the blues would last very long... i have neuspeed race paired with koni yellows on my crx and i could only wonder how my ride would be with tokico blues... OUCH

 

so the tokico struts are no good, if i use the sprint rx's will they blow out right away???

 

I think stuts blow mostly from spring rates being to stiff for the strut to handle and a lil from how low the spring drops it. Run the regular sprints. I wish I had a pic. The are a nice drop on my hb. Like I said only 1/2" gap or one small finger. Your struts will be fine on those. For the extremes you would probably want some Tokico Illumnas or Koni's

 

I like the regular Sprints.
If i ever dropped my car again, thats
