N1 on 2001 ITR, is it supposed to hit the rear bumper?
Just put on an Apex-i N1 and it sometimes hits the rear bumper. Is it supposed to do this until it burns off the part of the bumper it is hitting? I was just wondering, because it is kind of anoying.
Mine hit the rear bumper. It burned a little section of it off but it still vibrates it every once and a while.
I think I found out what my problem is, the guy who installed my exhaust overtightened the b-pipe to the cat causing it to twist and not be centered with the bolts, this in tune cause the rear muffler to be tilted just enough to touch the bumper. I have to have it unbolted and realigned, maybe that will fix my problem.

you gotta mess with it, its all in how you line up the b pipe and the canister. . .
mine was on great the 1st time i put it on , but thne i have dropped the exhuast soooo many times, that the alignemnet came off and sometimes rattles against the frame, i get out and kick it and it realigns better. one time , it did burn some of my bumper too . . . glad i got black

Perfect fit with mine. Had to slightly bend one heat shield, but that was it. Maybe I got lucky with the install, but it was a breeze and it all lined up just right...
There are 4 points where you can mount the rubber hangers.
2 on each side.
My tip was tight to the bumper as well and would have burned it too but, I futzed with the hangers and it is on the origional point on the inside and the lower point on the outside or vice versa. I slicked up the rubber henagers with WD40 and it all slipped on and off a lot easier.
It's at the perfect height now.
Check the archives for some dude who lowered or raised his Spoon N1 I believe. In his post he describes the same trouble and then the hanger issue and how he moved it.
Good luck,
A.

mine has about a 1/4 inch clearance....are you using the whole catback or just the canister? Maybe you should swap out the hangers..
