Default Used my ARP ring compressor yesterday.

One of the best tools I have ever used : http://www.arp-bolts.com/pages/produ...s/to_ring.html
Pistons slid in smooth, could not even tell when the rings were going past the lip of the cylinder. Don't think I will ever use a different piston ring compressor again.

Cost me $55 including shipping. Each tool is bore specific, and since both of my engines are 84mm, it was well worth it.( I tear my motors apart as often as some people change their oil.)

They have way more applications than Moroso. Moroso does not have an 84mm.

I have one for the 87mm in my h22, I've used the tighten down spring type, and I love the arp one. So much easier, and very hard to bind. 55+shipping

just wondering, how do you guys use those? i cant seem to figure out how the rings will fit in those without getting it pushed into the pistons first and then being able to slide in.... any help? is it a lot easier to use than the ratcheting one?

You install the rings on the piston, position the rings, then slide the piston/ring assembly into the compressor (sitting on top of the cylinder bore) which acts like a funnel. Tap the piston gently on the top with a plastic or rubber mallet until the piston rings clear the top of the bore.

Yes-big on the top and tapers down to bore size at the bottom.

It depends of which piston size you have. They don't have the 81.25mm. It's a special order Item. I ordered me one of this size so I can put stock pistons that is 81.25 oversize. I have most sizes for the B-series from 81mm to 85mm. I'd never use another compressor other than these ones. They are awesome. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 1.6i &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">nah...i bought that one..gave it back I didnt like it at all..but to each their own
