Bouncy ride - CRX lowered with Neuspeeds, and camber kit front and rear
I have a 89 CRX DX with 17" rims. I lowered my car with Neuspeed sport springs and Monroe gas shocks. The ride was great, and didn't bounce at all. Then I had a camber kit installed so the tires wouldn't wear out. That's when the ride went all to crap. The front end of the car bounces constantly going down the road now. I cut part of the inner fender wells out, and that helped a little but still didn't fix the bouncing problem completely.
I have been told several different things it could be. I would like your opinions on what could be wrong. I've been told it's my shocks because they're not 'performance', the bumpstops need to be cut, Neuspeed springs just give a rough ride, etc. You get the picture.
I obviously want to fix the bouncing problem, but I don't want to shell out any more money than I have to. Please guys, help me out. My car bounces like a minitruck.

well first off cut the bump stops, then make sure the your camber kit is set up right. Try and take it off maybe and see if its any different. How long have you been on the Monroe Shocks. Maybe they are blown.
It's the shocks. You need shocks that are at least better than stock, and I would guess Monroe shocks are probably quite a bit cheaper than stock.

i have the monroe gas struts on all 4corners (sensa trac III) they work great and run about 100-120 per corner... i have all struts no shocks

I would of gone with Bilstein!

Have you guys heard of bec-tech adjustable struts? They are supposed to be a shorter strut/shock than stock. They supposedly make your car ride like stock. I dunno.
I guess my question is, do I need a shorter shock or will a shock like Tokico stop the bouncing? Thanks guys.

The neuspeeds you have dont really slam the car that much--so a nice set of GR2's should do the job.(KYB). Also those 17's are killing your unsprung weight, which is essential to proper shock rebound--but thats a whole different story. IMO stay away from Tokico--but thats my opinion.
After reading all the posts on here, the one thing I never saw you mention getting done was an alignment. Granted, it probably won't take care of the bouncing problem completely, but it probably won't hurt either. Seems to be one of the small things a lot of people overlook after getting a new suspension. Oh - and stay away from the monroes. definitly not the shock of choice to mate with Neuspeed springs. Tokico, Koni, Bilstein, etc... all of these are bulit for cars with a more aggressive than stock suspension. Can't say the same for Monroe. Just my .02....

You bought some expensive junk dampers. (Stay away from Pep-Boys if you are looking for ungrades for your car.) I really don't think those can handle any sort of lowering. Bouncing is normal in a car with stiff springs and dampers that don't have sufficient valving for the spring load. At the very least get some Tokico blues. They aren't the hottest damper on the market, but for a street driven car with no track use they will be just fine.
