Well got my cheque today. $27000.00 Cdn for my '98 Type R with 115,000 km. That includes my stereo, partial mods and taxes. Didn't have to fight too much to get it either. I thought it was pretty good seeing as though I would have sold it for $20000.00.
I still miss it though

I'm still trying to settle with my stolen (and stripped) ITR. I'm trying to claim all (or some) of the mods I did to her. Still arguing with my insurance. Decided to get a Scooby and not another Honda.
I still miss my ITR. It's not the same driving through the mountains with my Scooby compared with my ITR

They never recovered my car at all. I may go the Scooby route myself...I'd like an STi, but don't think I can swing it. I know there will be some good deals on trade in WRX's when the STi comes out. Thank god we have a Subaru dealer in our family as well

My insurance mess was just completed today as well. I got a total $19,900 for my totalled R. It was a bitch of a process, and that includes almost $10K in receipts I submitted to them, of which they only gave me $400 for
Sucks about the receipts but I still got a very nice check back on the car(considering it was salvaged) and I actually got back more than I payed for it when I bought it
Now I have a pretty decent R thats completely put back together, and no car payment

BTW, why are Subaru WRX's called Scoobys?
JonnyBoy - Glad you get it settled quickly. It won't replace the car, but it certainly helps I bet.

Damn Brian, you got yourself a pretty good deal! You probably has an extra 10k to spend after your ITR is done.

You made out pretty nice. I totalled my 98 GSR w/ 53000 miles right after christmas. After they checked out the car they said it was worth $15,500! I was very happey with that number, and they also offered to pay for aftermarket parts on the car. I only gave them receipts for my exhaust and springs, and I got an extra 400 back i believe. It was probably the best thing that happened for me. I got out of my loan, and bought myself a just as nice black 99 GSR with 48000 miles. Also, somehow my insurance rates only went up around 100/yr.
