Default Removing a block stamp?

I would like to remove my block stamp this is the easy part, now I would like to put a b16 in place of the b18 so how would I go about doing this to make it look authentic? I could dremmel it in but I dont think it would look good enough to pass.

thanks
mike

thats very illegal I wouldn't suggest it but if you want to you would have to use metal stamps you use a hammer and punch in what you want it wont look authentic either

I think hes just trying to make it so if ppl look at his stamp they see B16 and think its weak. compared to a 1.8L.

Actually, I think his reasons are none of the above. Rather, we are probably talking about a California guy who is trying to make their motor emissions legal. Theoretically, an LS-VTEC (which has the B18A1 or B18B1 stamp) could be made legal if it was changed to B16A3.

I got the idea when a guy on h-t did it to his b20 to disguise it and thought it would be a good idea, but then I would have to conceal the ls/vtec line and if anyone knows anything about honda motors they would know when they saw the line... btw I live in a place where there is no such thing as emmisions

I did it for the same reason... To cover up some stolen ****... hahaha j/k Most people don't realize that my friend's B16A has a 270mm deck... Check it out, can you tell? Yes i realize that this is illegal but whatever... It's kinda hard to make out but yes this is a B18C

Nah, if it runs slow...it's weak no matter what. He's just trying to make it so he has an excuse whenever he loses.

BTW, what's up with the rash of posts containing illegal things? First there was a post on how to add a number, then there's another on rolling back the mileage...now this?

What's so wrong with going legit?

I forgot to add, if you are worried about people telling then I wouldn't swap a B18A/B badge for a B16A... If you know what to look for from the front of the block you can see a major difference in the casting... As the B16A and B18C are the same except for the B18C's additional 7mm deck... That is also very noticable.. Either way if someone knows what to look for you won't be able to trick them.. Even with the way I swapped my friend's badge a person who knows Honda motors could tell.. As for running an oil line on ur LSVTEC the so called "B16" your reason could be that you had internal oil feed plugged for turbo and that's why you have an external oil feed.. hehe That's just what I would say tho.. Peace

it's as simple as not opening your hood, or cover the stamp with some gunky axle grease! i have people come look at my engine, and half the time they won't notice that they're looking at a crvtec, and not a ls/vtec as they are told. my .02c

Yea I guess that works too but i can't stand motors when they get dirty... That and the wiring have to be totally perfect, for me... Not popping the hood works too.. hehe Peace

THIS IS EXTREMELY ILLEGAL NO MATTER WHERE IN THE US YOU ARE, AND IF YOU'D LIKE TO SO ABOUT 5 YR FOR FRAUD GO AHEAD. Not to mention it's shady as hell, and ignorant. If you want to screw with people just get a steel plate have something else engraved in it and paste it over the original stamping, that way it can be removed if you ever sell the engine or car.

well either way you cant do it unless you do it like was done on the red block above but then again people are gonna look at a block thats painted and say that thing was out and machined so it prolly has some work in it built i would think a built b16 would be scarier than a stock b18 just oppinion and i didn't mean to question you i just didn't think about under rating a car

JG removes the stamp and replaces it with their logo for race only applications. I wonder if they're stolen????
