Civic Type-R Conversion
I was wondering if anyone knows everything that is needed to convert a 96-00 civic hatch to Type-R. just for the parts that add performance from stock. not caring about interior and exterior because it will be a track car (H1). im just talking about performance wise. So far i know, we will need Engine which instead of the b16b, we will be going with ITR b18c5. and suspension, which will be rear disc conversion, etc. i searched thru hybridgarage and found some info about the motor. as far as i know i only need the 99-00 si rear mount and some wire harness mods. but for suspension it is kind of shady. I found a TypeR kit online but it is for Integra. I know they are similar but when it comes to type-r is it the same? and do i need to change anything else. Brakes & Suspension wise... we are just trying to get something to start with then go from there.
thanks for you input...

its not going to be a real ctr. i mosty need to know information about suspension. its for performance... ctr parts bolt on.... 5 lug conversion, disc brakes in the back, etc...
mainly, we plan to combine the best of both worlds ITR, and CTR. But we are using the Hatch chasis for a reason... so to alter my question. which is the best way to go?

My car beats Integra Type r (well lost against 2 of them) and i only have civic type r piston over bored and knife edge crank and civic type r cams. but its cool, do whats best for you

well ****, why didn't you say so. About that topic, i couldn't really help you. just beef up your suspension like crazy!!! Use redline oil that **** is good! (but mobil one is the best ****) redline gives more power and better response
yea. that is one of the reasons we will be doing the Type-R Suspension conversion. but im still wondering what all needs to be swapped out...
If you're going track racing, I would highly suggest you read up on the rules and regulations concerning your class. Then you can go about extracting HP out of it.
i think i can get you a brand new 0 miles integra type r motor. but i don't know if it comes with all the ecu, axles, andtranny. but the motor has 0 miles. i think for 4500 bucks. if you are intrest in it let me know
to bad they did not come out with the USDM CTR... so with the type R motor we will be jumping directly into H1 class so from there we can pretty much do anything. it does however need to stay N/A so no turbos, etc... with track its H1-H4. H4 being pretty much bone stock off the showroom floor...
