Hi I have a Civic Hx with CAI, header, and a muffler.

My car's always backfired a little when shifting into second, but my friend just noticed that when this happens you can see flames in my exhaust.

What could be causing this???

65k on the motor, the above mods are the only thing done to the motor.

when was the last time you did a minor tune up on it? try new plugs, wires, cap, flush the fluids and an oil change....

 

Mine does this also. I think it could be the valves not seating properly.

 

Checked your timing yet?

I'll try checking the timing, if that doesnt work I'll change the plugs, wires, cap and rotor...

I change my oil every 2500 miles, and I just had the tranny oil changed not too long ago.
