Anyone with a Magnaflow Oval Muffler
I want to get an axle-back exhaust with 2.25" stainless steel mandrel bent piping and a Magnaflow oval stainless steel muffler. I want it to follow the same route as the stock exhaust, but I don't care if there's dual pipes coming out from the end of the muffler like this or not:

My question for those of you with a Magnaflow muffler, is what did you do for piping? Do any of you have this same setup? Magnaflow doesn't make any exhaust kits for 88-91 civics, only 92+. I don't have much money to spend, so I can't afford to have this done custom. Is there any other stainless steel exhaust kits that don't have the muffler welded on? Then maybe I could sell the muffler and weld on the magnaflow one. Or is there any place like jcwhitney where I could get different pieces of 2.25" mandrel bent SS piping? If so, does anyone know which pieces I would need to order to go the stock route?
Magnaflow actually sells pre-mandrel bent piping. You could mock something up and order the peices from them. Just have it welded together at a shop.

i have one of those
stock exhaust to 2 inch inlet muffler and a 4 inch ricer tip
it's really deep and loud..... not really raspy liek the n1 style... and it fits snuggly on the right side of the car
hehehehe i need digital camera to show how it sits.. it looks ALOT better then the crossover 1 inch exhaust muffler style

yah, i like that muffler. looks stock but it would be functional at the same time....but of course stock for an EG, since our muff's were freagin side ways from the factory....geez. But i would think if you mimic'd the EG setup (Ends right behind right rear LCA) It would save alot of weight and piping. Kinda looks like an e's muffler too..

I know it's not a very good design, but I was planning on following the same route as the stock piping (with muffler horizontal). I just want that stock look, like this...

when i had my sedan, i was going to go with a magnaflo and have it set up like stock, going sideways.
i found that they have a muffler with almost the same exact dimensions as stock, except they were 1" thicker i believe. but i like it cause it was just as LONG as the stock muffler.

Someone told me that home depot sells mandrel bent pipes, and I might be able to make my own setup. But does anyone know what type of metal any of these stores carry? I'm assuming they don't have stainless steel, but that would be great.
Old School-
If you don't need stainless, I think Dynomax makes a mandrel-bent axle-back system, with their own muffler, in aluminized steel for about $150. You might be able to buy just the tubing for that that system, or you could probably sell the muffler on ebay for what you'd pay for the Magnaflow, and swap them.
I don't know how to do stainless on the cheap, though. Wish I did.
