Stick to the real thing the main thing that you would use a dyno for is tuning, that lacks a wide ban 02 - I think its just a waist of money

....maybe i just don't know anything, but how can you tell how much power you have by sound of your car???
if thats true we should ask blind people to just tell us how much power we make

If you know your gear ratios, and the overall OD of your tires, vehicle wieght, and the drag coefficient of your vehicle, then you can estimate horsepower by reading RPM. The mic just reads RPM. It does work, if you can manage to use it correctly.

it's something to do with hearing "ticks" from the engine. i read about this program a WHILE ago (2 years or so)....in theory i believe it worked.

i'll have to find that page again....i'll post it if i do...

i actually saw a dyno that you have to remove your drive wheels for and it attached to the hubs

apparently this system is more accurate since it takes the movement directly from the hub rather than being skewed by tires

Yeah, but how often do you drive on your hubs? If you are doing that you might as well pull the engine and test the HP at the Flywheel. WHP is what counts.

it's called a DynaPack. yes it is more accurate. my friend recently got his jrsc'd GS-R tuned on one. althought they read a little lower than the usualy dynojet.

it is measuring WHP. just not accounting tires/wheels. go to the site and read how much more accurate it is.

It could be good for people who have traction problems on normal dynos.
