my cousin has a 96 accord lx. he told me that the other day he was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden the car just shut off on him. he totally lost power and he had to pull over to the side. he said he tried to start it back up and fired up like there was nothing wrong. this one confuses me... he didnt say wether or not he had a CEL. ive never experienced anything like this.. any ideas?

 

Have hin watch if the idiot lights come on when it loses power. If not, I would suspect the ignition switch is faulty. There is/was a recall on ignition switches, and I believe the '96 was a good part of that campaign.
