i was just wondering if it was a good idea to boost a single cam non v-tec crx or am i just wasting my money on doing this

 

What kind of boost?? What SOHC engine are you talking about? Do you have DPFI or MPFI?

 

well is the stock si engine non tec its from a 91 crx . do u think thats a good project or not?

 

hey y not. if u r running relatively low boost on a junk yard project then it really wont be a waste of money. you could put in less than 500 bucks and have a pretty decent Hp gain.

 

so i can only run with low boost and my car wont suffer and i wont blow my pistons or any thing .

 

wouldn't you need to get an ecu for that?

 

If you're planning to boost, I would get some kind of fuel management system in the works.

 

i had a salvage 90 si bone stock w/ a t3/t4 turbo, fmic, fuel pump, & fuel reg, funning 10lbs of boost on a 120k engine. its hauled a$$ beat a supra turbo on the freeway from 60-120 then thats where i quit then it blew past me.. oh yeah it rocked for about 3-4 months then i warped the head... so for a short time of fun do-it. but for realiability boost around five lbs and slowly build the engine to last longer...$.02
