low rpm hesitation
When i get on it in first and second my car slightly hesitates then takes off. I give it gas let out the clutch then after like a second or two it jumps forward. i feel like an *** cause my passengers think i cant shift.... But it only happens in like first and second and at low rpm shifts. Could it be the fuel pump or something? The car has 80,000 miles on it, but the engine only has 7500, but i dont think they changed the fuel pump when they put in the new block..... who knows, any ideas and comments would be helpful
This might be the part-throttle hesitations some of us suffer from. I don't believe anyone's found the problem - although we're pretty sure it isn't anything involving the ignition system (cap, rotor, wires, or plugs). Nor is it a fuel delivery issue in my case.
My current hypothesis is that it's an issue with the throttle position sensor. I used a generic sensor tester a little while back, and am 90% sure I found a "flat-spot" in the sensor. I've been meaning to replace it for almost a year now, but still haven't gotten around to it. It's not particularly convenient, because Honda doesn't sell or replace the TPS by itself - they want you to get an entirely new throttle body.
However, since it seems that you've recently had a lot of work done on your car, all bets are off.

They just replaced the engine and it did it before that also. Everything else is still stock......the dealership didnt like the idea of going the extra mile.....lazy MFers, So there is a problem with the sensor at a certain throttle possition? hmmm thanks for the info.
is it still under warrenty? is the motor an oem replacement, or is it some type of bigger motor? your motor might not be getting enough fuel. i have an ls/vtec in my crx and that was my problem. going from a 1.6 to a 1.8+ wasnt good for the fuel delivery system. i had to replace the pump, fuel filter, and fuel lines.
