where are the vss and back up light switch...............

the back up light switch screws into the tranny, 2 wires are comming off of it. Ryan

wait a min.. assuming he's still single cam, or whatever engine he has, if he's OBD0, he's got a cable driven VSS, and will not have wires. The only VSS signal would be comming from the cluster to the ECU.. riiiiight?

i can help you wire it up, but i don't know about making it fit.. i doubt its the same lay out.. have you tired it? you have a 89, so maybe a 90-91 hood? and brakets? i dont' know..
your looking at the same swap i am.. getting a non cable driven speedo in your ride.. you will have to find a D series 92 and up speed sensor, and wire it to your cluster.. 3 pin i belive.. 1 hot, 1 signal, and 1 ground.
Your cluster now is cable driven.. you need to upgrade to VSS, to get the cluster its signal.

i have a jdm itr cluster in my 90 integra (non-ODB) and i did convert to the electrical VSS...but since the cable vss sends a signal to the ecu...everytime i brake from 60+ the check engine light would come on...and it shows da its VSS Problem because the ecu is not getting the speed pulser signals...anyway to fix this? or override the speed pusler on the ECU? i've been trying to figure this out =T i think its keeping my vtec from kicking in too....

The VSS is on the tranny you should see it as soon as you pop the hood ... The speedo cable is what goes from the top of your tranny too your cluster..if u look by your rear motor mount there should be a wire going to the top of the tranny... thats the speedo cable...
