Aftermarket flywheels...who has one?
I have been searching a lot, but I haven't found a lot of posts where people actually had aftermarket flywheels for a d-series. Who has one, and what kind is it? Also, can you mix flywheels with clutches? I was thinking about buying an Exedy clutch, and trying to find an ACT flywheel, or something else. Anyone?
zex makes chromemoly flywheels, they're much stronger than aluminum. only thing is that they're pretty expensive. there's lots of other types out there, you just have to look, clutchmasters, act, centerforce, etc...
i have a lightened flywheel....shaved down to almost 10 lbs it was a bad idea tho lighten flywheel is for accelerating purpose only... rpm drops pretty fast when i let go on the gas when im just cruising on the freeway
Here you go....ive actually been keeping my eye on this forum.....https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=410322
i don't have an aftermarket flywheel/clutch yet, but they are on the list within the year. I've been looking at the exedy organic clutch w/ACT streelight forged chromoly 11.9lb flywheel.
http://www.clutchcityonline.com seems to have good prices on clutch/flywheel combos.

Not that mine is for D series, but I am the proud new owner of an ACT 8.8 pound chromoly flywheel. ACT now has a new chromoly racelite and streetlite models, I think for B and D series motors. Both models are pretty inexpensive yet super strong pieces... check 'em out on ACT's site, dealers on this board and even ebay for new ones too.
