gonna stop by the wreckers tommorow to pick up a used alternator,sellin the car in the next couple weeks so i dont want to buy a new one.

the big question is how much should i expect to pay for one, my car is a 1988 honda crx dx (cnd, its 5spd thou)

I'd say no more than $50 (usd) for a d-series alternator.

i bought one the other day: total (including tax, ~8.6% i believe, and a core i will not return) was: $13.00 pullin it was kinda a bitch, i need a 12mm ratcheting box wrench...

with big tool box and 2 tools. and take it off, and put in tool box walk out
well, i dont know 50 or less. any d-series works.

the biggest problem your gonna face is taking it out...your gonna be able to disconnect it no problem but its gonna be stuck...if you didnt already know this...there is a few options you have to take it out...the easiest is to losen the mater cylinder and slide the altenator out the top by there...good luck...i bought mine for 50$ at a junk yard
