My b16 hit a 115mph and the damn govenor kicked in is this normal???

 

Yes, its normal. You were most likely at 120, but speedos are known to be off by a few MPH when you get on up there.

actually what u have its a JDM PR3 ECU
the speed limiter its 112 mph... actually the speed governor wont let u go pass that unless u chip it or something... sorry i know it sucks... but at least its going to keep u from going any faster and killing u

 

Anything above 70 would most likely kill you in a crx.

 

i'd have to say like anything over 50mph would kill you.

Oh well, they are light.

And to think, ive gone like 100mph with my stock HF, and 135 in my friends crx w/ b16.
on the track of course...

 

what kinda chip do you have to buy to raise that? for track use only...i have b16 with pr3

 

I have the VS1 pr3 ECU chip and have peggeg out my speedo 120+. Got it with my first swap from ARDperformance. They are high but worth it. Especially if your engine is modded. http://www.ardperformance.com/cgi-bi....pl?serial=127

I thought honda speedos work the other way though... saying they r at 115 when it is really only 107 or whatever.
I have my pr3 chipped and I love it, I want to top it out one day...

 

yes. the 115 limiter kicks in too early in my tastes...not that i go that fast regularly or anything. how easy is it to desauder and sauder on the chip yourself...ive done stereo stuff b4 so i figure that i could do this myself and save some $$
