Default XACT Flywheels are off the hook...

XACT Flywheels are off the hook...in pricing.

I've been bothering most of the shops in Vancouver about purchasing my new clutch flywheel combo and you will not believe how "affordable" the XACT 9 lb chromoly flywheel is compared to "others". Check it out.

BTW - how much does the CM flywheel weigh in at?

I just installed a 99 jdm itr tranny and xact 12lb fw into my 95gsr and its insane.. Not only are the gears shorter than my friends r, but the revs climb extremely fast.. I didnt want to go with a lighter fly because I drag race quite a bit, and I wanted the rotational mass, but with the added benefit of the lightened flywheel.. I am very pleased with this setup.. I also went with the act HD pp and sprung disc.. Isnt to chattery and it hooks really good.. I really would recommend the act flywheel because its great quality at half the price..

8.8 seems like a nice weight. 12.5 is only 1.5lbs lighter then stock.

Do you lose any driveabilit/speed in a lightly moddified swaped car with the 8.8 in comparison to the 12. Also, any long term maintence problems/wear? Why do people go with the 12.5 if the 8.8 is all the better? Thanks.

Hmm just so you know, everything I've seen has rated the ITR flywheel at 15lbs, so in reality its probably 14.5. I believe the price difference between the 12 and the 8.8 is very small, somewhere around $50.

www.gruppe-s.com

I got mine from there. Give them a call 510-498-8400 tell them brian referred you, I'm one of the only few who buy Honda parts there.

As for my set up. I have the xact 8.8lb., 6 puck, 4.7 fd, ctr n1 pulley.

Revs really quick. Acceleration is nice, I think the Regamasters lightweight help out a lot as well. Some have said that the light fw lost the lower torque feel, I cant speak for that since the 4.7 helps with accessible torque at low end compared to the 4.4. One thing I wouldnt get again is the 6 puck, for me its just a little annoying everyday for a 70 mile round trip in bumper to bumper traffic.

So far xact prolite

Since I don't have an ITR, its more like 1/3 lighter than stock. Stock for me is 18 so 12.5 is a big change. I was afriad of going too light which after it's all said and done, I should have gone lighter. My dad was freaking out when he heard I went 12.5 over the stock 18. He would have crapped his pants if I would have ordered the 8.8. Go lighter than 12.5, especally if its going into an ITR.
