Default depreciation price after racing

I need to sell my car end of summer coz i'm leaving the country, but i can't resist to register for the track and auto-x events. Would the value of the car drop a lot after being raced? i'm a novice, and it's not like i'm beating the hell out of it. opinion?

Your Type R was born to be raced. Your value should depreciate if you don't race it!

Anyone seriously looking for a used ITR should assume it has been ratbagged. I mean broken in properly.

I'll agree with this. I knew it advance the R I bought used had been tracked on more then one occasion, didn't deter me from purchasing it - as I planned to do the same anyway. *shrugs*

It's not whether the car was raced that affects the price of the car.

But, rather, price is reflected on how it was maintained with or without racing. It's all about taking time to maintain the car to run properly. Just look at some of the 100k mi+ ITR's on the board... raced, but running stronger than ever w/ proper maintenance.

Agreed.
My car has 35K miles with many many track events. All fluids are always kept clean and no overrevving or mis-shifting. It went on the dyno couple months ago and pulled some above average numbers.

I'd much rather buy one that was track'd and kept in well maintenance, as most track frequenters are in the habit of doing.

I agree. I bought mine with ~58,000 hard driven miles. I know the previous owners maintained the car very well, so I wasn't worried at all about the purchase. After putting on the dyno, I was pleased to see that it is still putting out very good numbers

As long as you take care of it the price should be strong. It is very rare to find a type r driven by some old nanny that just liked the color yellow. Even more rare to not be hitting vtec at some point or another

If you are looking for an ITR with the above traits, PM B2FiNiTY.

He treats his ITR in the above fashion.

Just race her and then return her to all stock condition The buyer will NEVER know! lol.

As for me, I plan on keeping my car forever so it's not a factor to me.
