Big brake upgrade for my '91 CRX Si?
I think that I'm gonna have to replace my front wheel bearings soon. If I'm correct, in order to replace the wheel bearings, I'd have to replace the whole hub assembly right? If so, I was thinking of upgrading them to Integra hubs along with the Teg's brakes, which are bigger. What I'm not sure of is, which year of Tegs brakes would fit? What is everything that I'd need to do the swap?
Thanks
Thanks
Find a 90-91 Civic EX 4 door (10.5 inch rotors). Change out the entire hub/rotor/caliper assembly. It bolts right up. Be sure to get the brake lines from the donor car as they are different from the '91 CRX SI hoses. I have done two of these swaps and it was a piece of cake. It is my understanding that the Teg hub will have alignment issues. Anybody else have aware of this?

they have a kit which uses you stock hubs and teg rotors/calipers, the problem with the 90-91 ex hubs is they are kinda hard to find (at least for me) and the 90-93 integra give u a messed up camber from what im told.

You can't use the integra hub in the Si knuckle. You can't even use it in the EX. The bearing in the Integra is larger than the ED knuckles can hold. The EX, Si, DX, and LX all share the same bearing. So, if you wanted to, you could replace your bearing and use the EX hub. That would suck because the EX caliper won't work on that combo. You should look into fastbrakes or EX knuckles.
Thanks guys.... but the thing is, I live in Canada, and there was never a 4th gen Civic EX offered here.
That's why I was thinking about the Teg's. But I guess the Teg's setup would cause alignment problems, right? I guess I'll check out Fastbrakes.
But what about EG's brakes.... I know that they are larger, but would they fit onto an EF??

crx_kid, if you are looking for knuckles email me. If you want bigger brakes then get the 90-91 Civic Ex knuckles or if you want to replace your stock then get my si knuckles. Both in great condition.
well I would, but like I said before that we Canadians never got the Civic EX. Therefor it would be kinda hard to get parts for it.
Anyone knows if EG ones would work?

Never heard of anybody using the EG ones. You best bet would be stock or 90-91 civic ex. Look, I have them for sale and have shipped out a pair to Canada before. What other parts are you talking about?
to use the teg brakes up front you knotch the upper control arm cause the teg spindle is a little longer than the civic one. yes it will bolt up and yes you will have to have the alignment adjusted. a couple friends of mine have done this swap and they love it.
You don't have to notch anything it all bolts right up...(it won't bang if you lower it)but you HAVE to get the toe adjusted.
But theres really no point as the teg spindles are a **** load heavier then the 88--91 spindles.
Just put some good pads and brake fluid and you will like it.
