Is keyless entry on all 98 civic radios?
I heard from this website, http://www.handa-accessories.com/civic98.html , that all factory radios for the 98 Civic have keyless entry built in. Is this true? I have an after market deck but was curious if it would work, so I got my hands on a remote and plugged my factory deck back in but wasn't able to get it to work. I might not be programing it right. Does anyone know if this is possible and what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks
Thanks
you need to have both the factory and aftermarket headunits installed at the same time. Go to http://www.installdr.com for more information, they have a walkthrough that will tell you how to perform the installation.

I bought my car used and it didn't come with keyless entry. Does it still exist inside the radio even though it was never purchased? What I mean is can I just buy a remote, install the radio like you say, and program the remote?
You're probably programming wrong. Program the remotes using http://www.handa-accessories.com/civic/98keyless.gif

Read "The Issues" section about the extra green plug at http://www.streetdreams.com/tech/honda/civic9698.html - maybe you forgot to plug that in when you put the stock radio back in. Good Luck =P
