Default ground wire confusion =P

ok now everyone says the pic below is correct. but it doesnt even touch any part of the valve cover since there's a rubber gourment under where the nut is

and everyone says this one is in correct... but i would figure this is the rightway
since its directly on the metal part of the valve cover

and this one... umm.. yeah....really confused

what is the correct way?

This is the correct way. There is absolutely no need to ground the valve cover.

But with the top pic wouldent the wire be touching the bolt which would be touching the valve cover?

it goes around the bolt on the valve cover to ground the head not the valve cover..its right in the pic with the blue engine bay

your not grounding the valve cover your grounding the head. the bolt that it attaches to attaches to the cam which touches the head. the valvecover has rubber on it and such which does nothing. it doesnt receive much current which is why u attach it to the bolt.

If you are worried about sufficient grounding...use the mounting holes for the power steering, and ground directly to the head and the frame

it goes around the bolt on the valve cover to ground the head not the valve cover..its right in the pic with the blue engine bay

The one on the right is for the JDM throttle cable.

This is the right answer. The wired grouned in the car with the red engine bay is for the JDM throttle cable. Since everything on the JDM cars is on the other side, the throttle cable comes across and mounts to this point.

The ground is in the correct location in the car with the blue engine bay.
