h22 head h23 block
Who has run this set-up and what kind of results did you get?
My brother is thinking about picking up a h23 for $300 and then locating a h22 head and ecu.
Is it worth the time, money and effort? i've seen some ls/vtec's put down some nice numbers.
Thanks

its not bad setup just know what your doing its not like a ls/vtec as far as setting it up. You going to need squiters for the block form h22. Also vtec head gasket because the holes are predrilled for vtec and a vtec oil pump... this is off the top of my head its been a very long time since ive did one
drtracing.com has 600 whp out of an h23/vtec at ONLY 23 psi with pump gas. sick setup, go to their website and check it out. i'm buidilng mine as we speak. with jdm type s pistons, ported head, and all the other bolt ons. i've seen that same setup put out 220 whp, some has that same setup in the prelude room.
remember if you are building this engine you will get more tourque, but you cant rev it high it wasnt meant for it. also the best way is to go turbo. if your not boosting why bother with h23vtec. the h22 revs higher so it will make more power then h23vtec.
i'm only doing mine NA temporarilly. i want to put the engine in, i'm sick of seeeing it in my garage and not in my car. plus my motor has 340K miles and dying. what i'm trying to say is the H23vtec make crazy power for turbo. not so for NA. u decide
