Default Cannot get out of park! (Auto)

People have said it may be the shift lock solenoid. I cannot get out of park without using the shift lock release under the center console. That 'click' that I usually hear when I depress the brake pedal is no longer there. I have checked all fuses....what should I do??

this was covered. welcome to the board and please read the guidelines. if you do a search you could easily find your answer.
being a 99 my advice would be to take it to a dealer. it sounds like the switch for the brake pedal went bad. There is a switch so when you press hte brake pedal it will allow you to shift out of park. That switch probably went bad. I don't know how hard it is to change so it's best to take it to a dealer so you don't mess anything up.

it is your brake switch signal.
do your brake lights work?
\/
no-fix your brake switch circuit
yes-measure voltage of the brake switch wire, should read battery voltage.
\/
if there is battery voltage, check for loose connectors at the ECU or substitute the ECU with another one abd recheck or inspect the brake switch circuit.
it there isnt battery voltage, trace back and repair the open in the wire.

if your brake lites are out also, replace the switch on the pedal.

Thanks guys...yeah I did read the previous posts...but they didn't help too much and were old. I am gonna mess with it today with my friend. I think it is by the brake pedal where the problem is, like you said the brake switch down there....I'll let you know.

I'm not 100% sure if you can get the car out of park the car moves. the reason I ask is because a few years back i was driving a 93 toyota camry auto the front motor mount( torque mount) broke , I could not shift from park to any gear..... and the car would not move even if i used the key to release the shifter.
