he is telling me that i need a obd1 dist., because it has different sensors?
i thought it should be plug and play , ? because he is telling me that the even that i got a p28 chipped that i still need a obd1 dis,
i think he is bs me , or is he not?
if he is , what should i tell him ?

that harness wont plug upto that distributer, but you can make it work with some plug change. tell him to use your stock OBD1 distrubuter plug on the ENGine harness. Make him look like a jackass. that works and all the colors are the same..

The dist plugs up fine with the gsr harness, i got a obd2 b16a2 , with a odb2 gsr harness , a obd1 chipped p28 , in a obd1 vx 92 hb
so he is bs me right , that what i thought, what should i tell him to do ,
i took the car there so he can like get the car started ,and to plug up the a few wirers , that were missing on my gsr harness,
, should i just tell him that just to plug those up , and then i should just start the car? so i can make him look like ***

He is NOT BSing you, but the odb2 dizzy will not work with an obd1 plug but they can be made to work, he probly just wants to get alittle more money outta you.

a 2k grs harness WILL NOT WORK in a 92 civic without major work.....yes you need an odb 1 distributor unless you can repin the obd2 distributor!!!! and if you are asking these questions my guess is you can't repin jack!!
You will need to modify the distributor to work or get a OBD1 distributor. Also you're gonna need a OBD2 to OBD1 harness for the ECU to plug into the 2000 GSR harness. He's not bullshitting you...

Am I missing something here...which is quite possible. You have a VX hatchback...why not use the stock harness??? It is already wired for VTE, you have a chipped P28 which leads me to believe you want to run OBDI.
Also, there is no way in hell you bought a "brand new" dist. for $300, at least not from Honda. Ever try an price a new one? If you want a good laugh, go do it!

Probably brand new and REBUILT.
But let me get your setup straight. You used a 2k GSR ENGINE WIRING harness on your B16A2, running a chipped OBDI P28, all dropped in a 92 Civic?
I'm still thinking you can't hook up the OBDII wiring harness to an OBDI chassis. But, whatever works.

The 2000 GS-R harness PLUGS RIGHT INTO the VX harness plugs on the strut tower areas. I know this because my 1992 Cx has a 1998 ITR harness plugged into it - same as the 2000 GS-R harness.
The 1999-2000 engine harness won't work, but the Integra ones plug right in.
If you do that then you can keep the OBD2 distributor because the coil wires will plug in the same as the GS-R 2000 OBD2 harness.
Chad why are you trying to belittle the guy and then post misinformation?
This thread is cjock full of BULLSHIT.
If you guys don't know, don't guess please.
Use the 2000 Gs-R harness and it will plug right into any 1992-1995 Civic chassis. Keep the 2000 OBD2 distributor and it will plug right in as well with no additonal wiring at all.
Had he used a stock VX harness then he could still keep the OBD2 distributor by just repinning 2 damn wires - I HAVE THIS SAME SWAP in my 1992 Si hatch.
I'm speaking from experince, not hearsay.

shut up, tom, no you don't. (just kidding) but i was wondering if he could have used a 94-95 GS-R harness and an OBD I dist., then wouldn't everything have plugged in?
you could of gone either way.. vx with a obd dist or a 00 gsr wire harness with a obd2 dist. and on the ecu part all you have to do is use a 94 95 gsr ecu or a obd1 b16 either one will do

Let me know what you end up doing so I know what to buy for my vx. How are you getting past the 5 wire o2 sensor?

Haha, It is funny that everyone is trying to be a Honda tech. I would return that del sol dist and take it somewhere else. I did my own wiring, All you need to add is knock sensor and the secondary for my GSR.
