Can I fit 15's on my ITR, and if so can I get slicks for them?
I was going to order some Rota Slipstreams and I was wondering if I can fit 15's on a 2001 ITR w/ stock brakes. I don't know what size came with the car, because when I bought it, it had 17's on it. Also, can I buy slicks to fit on 15's or only Nitto 555R?
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

the stock wheel on an itr is a 15x6, +50mm. rotas will be fine, although a tad skinny for the available slicks. m/t makes a 22x8-15 slick that works well. i achieved a 1.907 60' with them. good luck. oh, and thank god you got rid of the 17's.....

He's still on them
ANd there is nothing wron with 17's. I had some on my ITR and I had better times @ the track. It just depends on whuch 17.

Actually they will be quicker due to a lower polar moment of inertia, if we want to pick nits.
Take a 5 lb weight (like you find at the gym, free weight) and spin it around in your hand. Now take two 2.5 lb weights and attach them to opposite ends of a meter/yard stick and spin it around in your hand. It will be much harder. This is an exaggerated example but you get the idear.

If you have a choice between 15" wheels that weigh 12 pounds each, and 17" wheels that weigh 12 pounds each, you will be quicker with the 15" wheels because of the rotational mass, even though both wheels weigh the same.

they definitely fit, I have them on my car currently.. and there should be slicks available for them..

Do I have to raise the front end up or will the 15's and slicks fit as it is lowerd right now for my 17's?

Why would you have to raise the front for smaller wheels?
Oh and you have a torqueless four cylinder, good track times aren't really gonna happen. But have fun anyways.
Throw it into some corners and put those brakes to use

Tourqeless? I have the most torque out of the VTEC Bseries. Why don't you stop hating and just leave positive advice or don't say anything at all.
You dumb ***, just because the wheels are smaller, don't you realize the tires are alot bigger? With your level of inteligence, how do you manage to drive a ITR? Maybe you don't even have one, lets see some pics, show the number too.

on me for that. I already know I'm a dumbass, so that wasn't an insult
But if you'd like to see pics I'd be more than happy to post quite a few.[Modified by OG Bizzle, 11:05 AM 2/11/2003]
Look, stop going off topic on my post, I said of all VTEC bseries, from the factory. It's not like I drive a civic and I am trying to put slicks on my DX.

Seems to me there is a B20 from the factory. That said, no B series honda has much torque.
You are going to get better acceleration and response from 15's. There are already some good posts above that could help you.

Nice pics, I will post mine when I get home in 30 and we will have a little show.
The question has been answered.
To answer your question and stop this stupid thread:
the car came with 195/55/15 tires on 15x6" +50 offset rims.
The idea is to get a similar diameter rim/tire setup. When you start to get into 17's and 18's you WILL be slower. The lower polar moment of inertia of the 15's/16's (as RJ stated above) makes them the right choice. That's just the way it is. Use what you want, but you CAN use 15" rims.
