throw out bearing
when installing an exedy clutch, should i use the bearing it comes with or a new oem one?
and I guess you didn't hear the bad stories or wasn't worried.. have fun adjusting the pushrod..
actually, quick question, did you put a lighter flywheel in with the clutch?
Use Honda Urea Grease if you can. Its dark green and comes in a little round container.
the one it comes with. grease it up good too

I am actually doing the same job (clutch, pp, JDM FD and FW). I went to pick up the throwout and pivot bearing and inquired about the Honda grease. The Acura parts guy told me, no such thing exists.... WTF?????

When received my Exedy Organic clutch from clutchcityonline, it came with at throwout bearing and a pilot bearing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but release and throwout bearing are the same thing, correct? Secondly, the guy who was doing it with me Pete, (pest), had no clue about the pilot bearing and neither did I. It was much smaller than the throwout, maybe about the size of a silver dollar. Where should that have gone and for what purpose.
I scanned clutchcityonline's website, and it was stated that some cars don't have pilot bearings. Is that the case with mine? If so, why did they send it anyways?

The pilot bearing goes in the center of the flywheel and supports the exposed end of the transmission imput shaft.
Throwout and release are the same.
We installed a Fidanza 9lb flywheel at the same time. Would that come with the bearing pre-installed? I remember specifically that the input shaft just fit into the engine and there was no clearance for anything else in there (i.e. pilot bearing)

Hmmm, well, been driving the car ever since for the last year and a half or so with no problems (except from deep rattling side that started the last time I pulled out of his driveway but only happens occasionally in reverse and at idle..). Guess I'll start saving up for a proper install.
When I did my clutch install, I used a high temp, high pressure grease. Do you think it will work instead of the urea grease? Just curous.
Edit: To answer the orignal question, yes use the TO bearing provided.

why does everyone recommend the aftermarket throw bearing when dealing with the Excedy clutch? Is this the case with all other clutches? I purchased a OEM throw out & pivot bearing for the kusk loc clutch that I am installing... is this ok?
Use the pilot bearing and throw-out bearing included in the kit. Some cluchtes i.e. dual disk diafram (i know the spellings wrong) require you to use a special throwout bearing. Also grease up the shaft with any auto grease. Brands not that important. Pilot bearing is installed on the backside of the flywheel. You must put this on before installing a new flywheel. On a side not, H22A motors do not have a pilot bearing, however all B series motors do.
