AEM actually used my GS-R to make their prototype CAI V2... I'm not sure how much horsepower they made above their original version. As part of AEM's deal to me... they will be sending me their CAI V2. I will be selling it the moment that I receive it because I desperately need the $$$.... So if any one of you is interested... then look for it in the classifieds...

-Thanks

Comptech Icebox or Mugen until I see any firm results from the V2. I'm sure it's engineered well though...

My thoughts, also. I'd look into $180 for the Icebox instead of $250+ for the V2. From the preliminary dynos that I was looking at, it seems like AEM just smoothed out the torque curve and maybe added 2whp, iirc. Icebox is still a better buy than the AEM intakes, if you ask me.

I don't think you can use the icebox and a cai at the same time. However, Comptech does sell a SRI (short ram) that can be used in conjunction with the Icebox. The thing that sucks is that you can only use Comptechs SRI with the Icebox without modifications. I've heard of others using generic short rams with the Icebox, but I'm not sure how they modified it.

I'm going to get an Icebox soon, but I'm using my stock tube. I'm not convinced that Comptech SRI will give me much gains vs. the stock tube.

Well... either way I say you wait until the V2's comes out... because then the prices for the V1 will drop dramatically... also if you don't want to wait, there's a GB going on right now in the Best Buys forum.

Well lets see. I just bought me a Skunk2 Intake Manifold with a ITR AEM CAI. The CAI alone was $250.00 shipped. V2 should retail around $300.00!!!

Too much for just an intake. The Standard 3" inch ITR CAI is good enough already.

yea, i actually think that the gains would be similar slappin on a v1 itr cai from aem. But either way... i love my aem cai v1 so i don't think i'll be flaming aem.

$250 shipped for a ITR CAI is a rip sorry.

I think the V2 will be better. I'd like to see the fitment though.

i doubt pricing on the v2 will be any better than the price of teh aem v1 for hte itr. And iremember when aem's cai was 200+ too.

You'll pay $60 for a cheap intake, but you have a JUN Chipped ECU, now I know that the Jun ECU is going to cost a lot, sort of contradicting yourself.
