does make a lot difference?
well, can someone tell me difference between AEM CAI and fakeCAI.. they both look exactly the same.. just the other one don't have a brand... oh, well AEM cost like $200.. and this fake one selling it for $50... well, i can't really tell the difference... so gimme some opinion or advise plz!~

Make your own for about $40 and go buy lunch with the other $10!

I don't know, do you really get $200 worth of anything with an AEM? I mean, its a pipe and a few silicone connectors.
Make your own for about $40 and go buy lunch with the other $10!

as for function, they may come with different filters (if at all)... it it were me, i'd replace whatever filter it came with with a K&N.
but i can't see much difference between tubes. the 1st gen rx-7 guys make perfectly good CAIs out of PVC piping (the aftermarket for those cars is kind of a bummer).
as for quality, i'd assume you'd be buying an extra-nice finish...and a logo from the company you like.

id say finish is about all that is different besides the filter..aem comes with a k&n..ive tried other filters that work just as well..as for the price..ur paying for the CARB sticker that AEM had to pay the air resourse board a **** load of money for

i was thinking about just replacing the filter newayz, thanks for the advise peepz~~.. by the way, have you guyz heard about "blitz" filter?. this guy from local shop told me that you never have to replace the filter once you buy it... i donno.. any opinion on those?..

A lot of it has to do with the CARB sticker and well... just paying for a shiny brand name pipe.

yea 1-2 whp gain...so the real question isnt the diif between aem and fake.but if its worth it even to get an after market breather system vs your stock air box(which stock looks a hella cleaner).... so your answer is get a k&n drop in filter for your air box and youll never know the diff...

pepboys too..its a toy store of auto products..for 1 or 2 hp gains id go with the drop in filter ..seems like the cone filters with the shiny intake pipes are for those using some kind of FI..a NA motor just doesnt need much more air than what a drop in filter will do for them..but , if u like the hissing sound of the intake and the look of a performance motor get the CAI...show vs. go

Dude, but with the AEM one u get 2 mad tizite stickers to put on your ride...even better, you can put them on your friends car who doesnt have an AEM CAI, to be in with true ricer style.

The AEM comes with a warranty.
Also, AEM no longer uses K & N filters. They use their own now.
