It really all depends on what your plans are for the car. But I wouldnt go past 2.25in. But a choice from the list, Apexi.

IMO if you have a header with a JDM (2.5in) sized collector then I would go with at least 60mm diameter exhaust (Tanabe, Apexi). If you have a USDM header then any of the exhausts should suit you fine.

Most of those units are loud as hell in my opinion. Greddy Evo is ok too.

ya know, people always discuss bottlenecks in the exhaust, but wouldn't getting a JDM header (2.5") and mating it with a 60mm or 2.25" exhaust create a bottleneck???
Wouldn't it make more sense to just get a full 2.5" from the header all the way back?
Thats what a friend of mine did on his ls/vtec...DC JDM header, custom 2.5" piping and HKS Hiper (which is a great choice btw)

EDIT: personally i have the Apexi N1 right now and when i go turbo i plan on still using it, but re-doing my piping to most likely 3"

I think the term for this is exhaust reversion. I agree it would make more sense to get a 2.5" system from the header all the way back.

not hsi again this is ****** ridiculous doesn't anyone realize its not what exhaust is the best its what hp range you are looking to get. which has everything to do with the tubing size of the exhaust.
read this and pay attention

ok i have done a lot of personal research on this subject for a while. it really comes down to what horsepower range is your goal. if youare looking to put out 200hp at the wheels on a b18c1 you wil need an exhaust with at least a 2 3/8" diameter. the most you could put out with this diameter exhaust would be around 230-250. the 2.25" diameter will cap you off around the 180-190 range. 2.5" will cap you off around 290-300. so i hope that helps you on making a decision. although price sound quality and customer service do come into play as well. personally, i would get a magna flow muffler withcustom 2.5" tubing with a resonator. this will save you a lot of money and will cost around 200-250 depending on how much the shop you go to charges. the magna flow will sound just like the comptech exhaust especially if you get a straight through design on the muffler.

Isn't the G power the same as the hyper, with a different muffler? That's what I heard. I chose the Hyper Medallion just cause i like the look, plus it's relatively quite. I figure it has enough performance for what i want.

Basically. But G-power is more focused on Turbo apps I believe. Too bad its Discontinued though. I also went with the Hyper Medallion. Great Exhaust!

so for an dd ls 2.25 piping would be enough...whats the diameter of the itr exhaust..what ever that is is i guess what i will have to run with and a header and cat to match it up...

went you think about this question, tell yourself this.... people are giving you opinions on what they think would be a good setup for your car. Any of these systems would work it all depends on what you want. All of these systems youve listed are straight through designs and one isnt gonna work any better than the other. so you decide on what you like

Tanabe IMO sucks because I have never seen their exhausts make power, N1 is really cool looking but good god can it be any louder, Comptech I don't like their design, I am a GReddy fan I have never seen an exhaust that didn't make power or didn't sound good. Just MO so eat it however you want.
