abs brake system malfunction
I changed the front brake pads two weeks ago, using Honda parts. I bled the entire system. Two weeks later the ABS light comes on. When I start the car it comes on as usual, turns off, and after 30 to 45 seconds comes back on. All fuses, etc. are fine. Do the brakes need bleeding? Do I have a bad wheel sensor?
The malfunction happened after the car sat overnight, it did not come on while driving, it just came on first thing in the morning after starting up. Thanks for the help. 1996 EX Accord, 4 cylinder, automatic. The ABS resevoir is full, no leaks. Brake pedal is firm, good braking action.

When you had the wheels off did you inspect the wheel sensors? If the wheel sensors are caked with dirt or grease, they will not send a signal which will trigger the ABS light to come on and the system will not function.
wheel sensors are clean, you start the car up, the light comes on, it goes off normally and then comes on again 30 to 45 seconds later and stays on. Sounds like the pump or it needs bleeding I guess. This all happens while the car is stationary.
Thanks
