ANTI-theft ideas
well i just had my integra stolen about a week ago. I dont know what im gettin next but its prob not an integra cuz they get stolen too much. but i was just wondering what anti-theft ideas you guys had. Cuz u know regular alarms dont do the trick, not even kill switches. i was thinkin rewiring the ignition fuse to under by where u reset the mait' req' light. and just pull it out when u leave... thats the best i could come up with. anyone else got any ideas
Out of the pile of rubbage the thieves left my car in. I did notice how the theives got my car. Now pop your hood. Do you notice a removable piece of plastic right on top battery near to the passenger window. Yep you figured it out. With the hood, that piece can be easily pryed off leaving acces to the battery terminals. SUcks cuz only the integra has this piece. My advice would be relocate the battery.

like many have posted in the audio/security forum.. no device will stop theft but having layered/several forms of security measures can help keep your car safe.. of make it harder (more time) for a thief to take...
I know a lot of people are going to say stuff like remove the ECU, remove some fuses, remove spark plug wires, etc... but seriously if you use your car once a week or something that may be viable.. but if your like me (and a lot of other people) who work 5 days out of the week and go out on weekends are you really going to have the time and go through the inconvenience of taking out your ECU everytime? I know for me the answer would be NO..
anyways w/ that said.. layer your security.. get an alarm w/ a pager and multiple sensors.. hood lock, protection for all doors, hood (hood pin switch not to be confused w/ hood lock), trunk, etc... have a shock/impact, proximity, and tilt sensor.... make sure the alarm is install well.. not just under the dash where if you look up from the brake pedals the wiring and alarm brain is right there... hide the brain and alarm wiring well... in addition to all this I had convenience features like door locking, window and sunroof closure and other features to ensure the car was locked/closed when the alarm was armed (it also auto-armed 30 secs after I close the door if I forgot to arm the alarm)...
along w/ the alarm.. get an autolock or pedal lock to lock your clutch and/or brake pedal... ALSO (not to be substituted for the autolock/pedal lock) get a club... this way you have BOTH your steering wheel AND your clutch (or brake) pedals locked in addition to the alarm, factory locks and pager...
put in a hidden kill switch.. you can kill the ignition, starter, fuel pump, or ALL if you wish.. just make sure you hide the switches well and that your connections are soldered, solid and good..
disconnect or relocate to the center console/near the shifter like many euro cars your power door lock (unlock) button... you can also just snip the "unlock" wire if you want.. you can wire the unlock to your alarms door trigger.. so if sum1 flicks the switch up to "unlock" instead of unlocking.. the alarm things a door has been opened and sounds the alarm..
having all these (factory locks locked, windows closeds, well installed and hidden alarm w/ multiple sensors, pin switches and pager, club/steering wheel lock AND Autolock or pedal lock, kill switches... your chances of the car getting stolen will be decreased... w/ that in mind even w/ all that the car can get stolen by a pro-theif or one w/ a tow truck.. but w/ all this your chances of getting your vehicle stolen would be decreased since they have to find and deactive several layers/items of security in order to drive off w/ it...
hope this helps

I wired a switch to my friend's ECU and put it in that oddly placed second ashtray that's on the lower left side of the 94+ teg dash. When my teg is runnin again, i'm gonna do the same thing. My teg is not running due to theft.
pull the ecu sounds like the best idea, all you gotta do is find a nice girl to carry it in her purse so you don't have to lug that damn things around.
just put a spark plug in your gas tank and get a remote and it your car gets stollen. just spark you gas tank and blow em up.
is it true that they make a porduct to break the autolock???...i've heard of it but never seen it..anys pics of it?
