Default Need More Advice on a New Exhaust (Ractive)

I'm going to get a new axle-back exhaust, if that's what it's called when you don't replace the midpipe. I want all 2.25" stainless steel mandrel bent piping. By the way, what size is the stock piping and what kind of metal? I was originally planning on getting this one by dynomax and getting the 4x9 oval SS muffler by Magnaflow:
http://shop.ivalueinternet.com/bigex...uct_id/381.htm
http://shop.ivalueinternet.com/bigex...duct_id/16.htm

But when I called I found out that this setup comes with aluminized piping. How much of a difference would this make in how long the exhaust lasts? So I looked around the site until I found one other setup like this for a 4G civic. It looks like everything I want and it's made by ractive:
http://shop.ivalueinternet.com/bigex...uct_id/692.htm

It does cost almost $100 more than the dynomax setup, but isn't $240 a good price for this from ractive? How does this compare to the magnaflow with quality, performance, and sound? Keep in mind I'd like a nice deep, throaty sound but not too loud. Does anyone have experience with ractive? I also have a very tight budget so I don't want to get it unless it's really worth it.

DON'T BUY RACTIVE !.. unless you want that nasty, poping, fart pipe sound .. I'd suggest magna-flo, I have lots of friends that are running the ol' magnas and they have acquired that low, deep, quiet until 5000 RPM sound.

Damn, I definitely don't want that sound! But if I get the magnaflow, I'd have to get the aluminized pipes. How long would that last? Or do you know another site where I could get a setup like that? Or any other advice... it would cost me too much to have someone do custom mandrel bent pipes.

i have a reactive, not the one you are talking about, i have the CF canaster one, its ok. but i would say save your momney and get something you really really want. i mean i want to get rid of my shity reactive, and get something better. so i would just say, run your stock exhaust for a while save up your money and get something you REALLY want so you dont have to do it later. but whatever you do, the reactive you are looking at its pretty much POOP!!! go with the magnaflow. alu piping is not to bad, stainless is a lot.

I don't think the custom bent tubing is that much.. like what, $200 (including the piping) or something (Candian currency that is) at Midas or in the states, Meineke. Go check out muffler shops prices, I'd imagine that there is a shop out there willing to do it for small amounts.

Whats this about having to get aluminized tubing?? Just get the muffler and run a straight pipe all the way back from the downpipe/header using stainless steel. I may be wrong, but as far as I know you can use stainless of aluminized..

I'm on a personal strike with Ractive and anything from Toucan Ind.
This guy who claims he's the owner of toucan called me at my old job about some problem with his tires. I called the tire expert who checked it out and he said that they didn't want to deal with this arrogant bastard. He hit a pothole (bubble with exterior evidence of road hazard) and he thinks he should get a free WHOLE SET OF NEW TIRES from ANOTHER BRAND. I agreed (as per good customer service from a a GOOD Company to authorize 100% of (1) tire even though he had well over 33% of use. He demanded I put him in another set of another make of tires. He accepted the offer I gave and swore never to buy T--- Tires again.
Good for us, bad for him. WHO the **** PUTS 20's on his car and drives around like his **** don't stink!!! Ignorant ****** wit too much money-money from RICE markets.
Just venting...sorry.

Im not really down with ractive...I currently have a tsudo canister..which is too loud but suprising doenst make a farting sound...Id agree with what everyone else and get something you really want..if i could do it again and I had like $450 to spend Id probably go with GReddy..but since im low on funds..I just orederd a 4x9 2 1/4" magnaflo SS muffler..I hope its quiet like a GReddy...fingers are crossed

I'd go with a full aftermarket system, since that wasn't in my budget I went with a 5 Zigen Fireball Exhaust and custom piping which cost me around 200 bucks. If you call around I'm sure they will be a custom exhaust/muffler place that will work with you on that.

Yeah but did you get mandrel bent stainless steel piping? I would think that would be kinda steep.
