I went to Spoon.JP and they had Spoon motors for about 3200 dollars. Is this true? the only thing Spoon of JP wont import it to the united states you have to buy it through inline or someone else whose going to charge you twice as much. Why do they do this? I can buy 80% of the things but not the tranny or engine.They have the tranny listed for 180,000 Yen which is about 1500! so tranny and block will run you for around 5000.00 brand new. If this is true its not a bad deal. Can someone who knows a little bit about this explain?

 

for that price i would get in a row boat and paddle my way to the land of the rising sun if those items are still available, but i think they are discontinued(at least the tranny is)

well they wont sell them to me i have to buy it through this company or this guy who still gives me great prices...i was just curious last night and looked on the spoon site...but i heard you have to give them a core to get that price according to this source i have.

hey remember you must factor in customs cost and shipping cost into the price as well thats why some of the dealers that sells them have a high markup. if i were find some one that works for an airline company get a buddy pass, and fly to japan and ship it your self. but thats if you have a time to fly to japan to pick up a motor.

Just buy a crate motor from Import Builders. Sure, it`s not "jdm", but it will bone the **** out!

i can definately feel your cause here, but a brand new crate motor is gonna run a lot of $$$ and you would still need a tranny, plus the reliabilty of a brand new factory motor that has been blueprinted and balanced is enough to make me want to take that route anyway. too much hp on a front wheel car that weighs 2000 lbs equates to drivabilty problems too, racing is another story though.

 

Dont buy the Spoon Crate motor from Inlinefour....A&J Racing has them cheaper.
