Water is collecting in the trunk!
Both I and my girlfriend have problems with water collecting in the trunk of our tegs in the spare tire well. Mine just started recently in the past 2-3 weeks. Could some of the rain drainage channels be clogged? This is my only guess, but I haven't been able to find any debris.
Has anybody else had the same problem? How did you fix it?

Never had it happened to me. You might check the seals on your hatch door. They could be crappy. Other than that, I really don't know. Is it a lot of water?
I've seen this asked 2-3 times in this forums its probably your taillight gasket.

you should check your taillight gasket... i had my teg's 1/4 panel repainted and they took off the taillight... they didn't put in the taillight gasket and everytime it rains, i have water on the floor in the back... that really sucks...

YEP, it happened to me as well, like anything, window/door seals will wear out or tear. I my trunk flooded due to unloading my mountian bike in the trunk, the pedal got caught on the rear seal.

My friend had a problem with the sunroof drain tubes coming out and draining into the trunk. Something to look into if you have a 2nd gen.

I had this problem as well. ZIt seems pretty common from what I am hearing and reading. With mine, I used trial and error to find the place where my weather stripping was leaking. Then, I used some silcon sealant from Home Depot and sealed the leaky weatherstripping up. No more leaks for me.
It's probably your taillight gaskets. I just ordered some from a kid by the name of jason. he makes double thick gaskets, got them installed and haven't seen water since.

I'm through playing guessing games myself so it's a yearly ritual for me to strip my trunks and back seat during the heaviest rain, and put them back on when I can stand to keep a towel or two where the puddle collects.
Yes, I sell replacement gaskets. Check my sig. They arent double thick. They use to be maybe liek 20% thicker. But I found a thinner material. They are now as thick as the stock ones. Better material tho
Thanks for the help guys! Always appreciated. I may be ordering one of those double thick gaskets once I'm convinced that is it. BTW-both tegs are 3rdgen, but I will be checking those drainage tubes anyway.
