Default N00b Question about Launching

what RPM do you guys rev it up to before you slowly release the clutch at the traffic lights (normal take-off)

and when u race, when do you change gears (what revs)

PS> how come i can't post in the other forums, such as Appearance?

At a traffic light I don't rev up, just bring it to 1000 rpm if needed, or do what I do let the clutch out till the car is starting to grab, then just give gas.In the street I shift at 3000.

When i race at the track I shift at 8000

Default Re: N00b Question about Launching (teg-your-it)

traffic lights: anywhere from 1000rpm...just high enough where the car is almost gonna die but i'm still rollin! LOL I try to shift at 3200-3800 but some times i get the urge to just get stupid!
Track: 4500-4800...work the clutch a little and by the time i get traction, i'm in vtec! take it up to 8000 and snap it into the next gear...would take it up higher, but my highmileage stock valve train wont handle high rpm's like that!
